Pastor Abdele George - Associate Pastor, Ephesus Church

Pastor Abdele George is an anointed minister. He loves the Lord and has a passion for seeking the lost. Since the tender age of four, he would often stand in front of the mirror with a broomstick in one hand, and a bible in another, imitating his childhood pastor. He was totally unaware that God was orchestrating a special plan for him. During the course of his life, Pastor George overcame many challenges. As a result, he can truly say, the Lord has kept and covered him. During his undergraduate studies in New York, with two semesters until graduation, with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, he picked up at the Lord’s request and relocated to Oakwood University to pursue a degree in Theology. God’s plan had finally become clear to him.

During his matriculation at Oakwood University, he served as the director of Power Hour Ministries, an on campus ministry dedicated to empowering students through prayer and outreach programs. He also served as a Master Guide instructor and President of the Religion and Theology Forum, a ministry devoted to providing spiritual guidance, leadership, and support to theology students. Pastor George graduated from Oakwood University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology. Shortly after his graduation he accepted the call to join the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. He later earned a Masters of Divinity degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan. While at the seminary, he served as the Assistant Pastor of the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church in Chicago Heights, Illinois. After his graduation he was assigned to pastor the Friendship Seventh-day Adventist Church in Elmira, New York. Pastor George has a heart for people and is a committed prayer warrior.

He is married to the love of his life, the former Shonelle Lynch. Shonelle holds degrees in Computer Programming, Justice Studies and English, and possess a Masters Degree in Education. Shonelle has served the church in several leadership capacities including Adventist Youth Leader, Youth Federation Chaplain, and Elder. She is currently an Empowerment Facilitator with 4 Real Women International. Pastor Abdele George and Sis. Shonelle George love the Lord. They both have a passion for serving the Lord, leading God’s people, and community outreach.
