Dr. Andrew Harewood - Senior Pastor, Ephesus Church


Dr. Andrew Ricardo Harewood is a Godly high-energy dynamic innovative organizational leader. Born on the 1st of December, Andrew is a leader who simply loves life. He first entered military service as an enlisted soldier in 1990.  Following five years of service Andrew completed both Master’s and Doctoral Degrees at Howard University, Washington, D.C. (1994 & 1996 respectively); and was the Howard University recipient of the Henry G. Maynard Scholastic award. Dr. Harewood has acquired extensive experience from various regions of the globe, demonstrating resourcefulness and competency in the areas of Multi-Cultural, Multi-Ethnic Group facilitation, Civic and Cross Cultural Conferences. This experience is leveraged in the strategic arenas of Executive coaching; Mentoring development programs; Competency mapping and development; Conflict resolution strategies; Corporate team building; Congregational career development strategies; Assessments and feedback instruments; and Succession planning.  

Dr. Harewood holds additional degrees and certifications in Theology; Counseling Psychology and Correctional Science, and is a graduate of the United States Army Command and Staff General Collage, the Unites States Force Management College, and most recently Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Executive Program. In addition, Trauma counseling, Crisis Management Intervention, Mental Health Counseling are intricate components to his comprehensive training. Dr. Harewood is a Certified Trainer of Living Works Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strengths Deployment Inventory (SDI) and a Trainer of Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (P.R.E.P.), Emotional Quotient Inventory Administration (EQ2), Emotional Quotient 360-Degree Interpreter, and Cross Cultural Communication Counselor.

Andrew served with several distinguish Churches, Military and Civic organization to include Mentoring Program Manger, The 310th Theater Area Army Command, and the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.  Andrew deployed to U.S Central Command, Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Persian Gulf and Deputy Command Chaplain, Combined Forces Command Afghanistan, Deputy Pentagon Chaplain; Resource Manger, United States Reserve Command, and Army Support Area Command Chaplain, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

His Military awards and decorations are numerous including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (w/ Three Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (w/ Two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (w/ Three Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (w/ Five Oak Leaf Clusters), National Defense Service Medal (w/ Two Service Stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/ Two Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (w/ “M” Device Second Award), Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Overseas Training Ribbon, NATO Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, The Army Staff Identification Badge, and Citations from The White House, U.S. Senate, Pennsylvania State Senate and various other ribbons and awards.

Dr. Harewood is a highly sought after global conference speaker and workshop presenter in the area of Strategic Planning, Executive Coaching and Program Mentoring. He is married to Karen Annette, a Medical Doctor, and they have four sons; Andrew Calvin, Jason Angiel, Aaren Hope, and Jalon Alvin.  His hobbies include reading, distance running, Billiards, Scuba Diving, and devising creative and educational methods of comprehensive leadership.  Andrew’s Life Motto is, “Don’t tell me, show me”!
