Visitors
If you are a first time visitor or newcomer to the Ephesus Seventh-day
Adventist Church know that you are welcome. Please allow us to share some
logistical information to make your worship experience enjoyable. Our
Sabbath School program starts at 9:15 a.m. each Saturday morning and
Divine Worship service at 11:00 a.m.
Our church
is located at the corner of Lenox Avenue (sometimes referred to as 6th
Ave.) and 123rd Street. We encourage you to enter the building using the
main entrance on Lenox Ave. At Ephesus we strive to be accessible to all
people and if needed, a wheelchair ramp is located on 123rd street. There is also wheelchair accessible seating in
the main sanctuary on the right and left sides of the aisles. If needed, a nurse
is on duty each Sabbath.
Looking
for parking? Unfortunately there is no designated parking lot but street
parking can usually be found on 123rd, 122nd, or 121st streets. Don't
worry the walk will be short and allow you the opportunity to glimpse the
vibrant community that is Harlem.
Once inside, please look for an Ephesus Hostess and make yourself known.
The Hostesses are usually dressed alike and wear a hostess badge. Our
Hostess will greet you with a warm smile, ask you to sign our guest
book, give you a church bulletin and will direct you to Sabbath School
classes and answer any questions you may have.
We
don’t offer childcare services but if you have children or youth we can
show you where their Sabbath School classes are located as well as the
nursery. We also have a youth church where Divine Worship services are
geared for the youth and young at heart. The youth service is held its
own sanctuary and runs in tandem with the senior service.
The typical Divine Worship Service begins with a musical prelude, opening
words and a chance to greet those sitting around you. We like to welcome
any visitors at this time. Our
services also includes; scripture readings, choral singing, prayer and a
sermon by the Senior Pastor.
At the conclusion of Divine Service we invite all visitors to
spend the day with us. After you have had a chance to reflect or meet
with the ministerial staff, we ask that you make your way to the front
of the church on the main floor and meet by the piano where a hostess
will lead you downstairs to the fellowship hall where a healthy, hot,
delicious, vegetarian meal will be served.
On most Sabbath afternoons and evenings we offer a variety of programs,
activities and events. We hope you will participate in one or more of these in
programs. Please see other sections of
this website for detailed information on special events.
We hope to see you very soon at Ephesus and should you have any
questions, or need additional information on lodging or travel to
Ephesus, please call the church secretary at 212-662-5536.
God loves you and so do we.
